The single biggest change this week: you no longer need a paid plan to connect an AI agent to Dokly. Claude Code, Cursor, or anything else that speaks MCP can now read and write your docs on the free plan too. Paid plans are what let that agent publish directly — everyone gets the agent.

The pitch, in one sentence#
You already tell your coding agent what you changed, so it can write the commit. Now it can write the docs for that same change, in the same sitting — no copy-pasting context into a second tool, no separate docs backlog that quietly rots.
That's not a new idea this week; the MCP server has existed for a few weeks. What changed is who gets to use it. Until now, agent access needed a paid account. A developer trying Dokly for the first time couldn't actually try the thing we lead with. That's fixed.
What you can do today#
Connect in one command, free. claude mcp add --transport http dokly https://mcp.dokly.co/mcp works on any plan. Browser sign-in, no API key to copy around.
Your agent can set up the whole site, not just edit pages. A new create_site tool means the first thing your agent does for you can be the site itself — name it, pick a layout, and start writing. Previously an agent could only work inside a project you'd already created by hand.
There's a step for this now. Finish signup (or checkout) and you land on a new "Connect your agent" screen: the one command to paste, and a suggested first prompt — asking your agent to draft a "Getting started" page — so the first thing you see in your new site is something your agent wrote, not an empty sidebar.
Signup itself got shorter. Onboarding used to ask for branding, a URL to import from, and a four-question survey before you could do anything. It's now one screen: name your site, pick a subdomain, pick a layout. Branding and import are still there, just moved to where you'd actually want them — inside the dashboard, once you have something to brand.
Nothing publishes without you. This is the part worth repeating every time we talk about agent access: an agent's edits to a page you've already published land as a reviewable diff, not a live change. New pages save as drafts. The only way an agent publishes directly is if you hand it a key scoped to allow that, on purpose. We'd rather you trust this because it's true than because we said so — the "Connect your agent" page shows the same approval screen you'll actually see.
For teams already syncing docs from git#
If you're pulling docs content into Dokly from a repo, the import tool used to wipe every page and recreate the project from scratch on every run — which meant a draft someone wrote in the dashboard that morning, or an edit mid-review, would get silently deleted by the next sync. The new sync-docs tool updates only the files you name, by slug, and leaves everything else alone.
Also this week#
A few smaller things that affect real accounts, without needing a section each: billing now matches purchases to the right account even when you pay with a different email than you signed up with, and if you cancel within 30 days of a paid plan starting, it's a full refund — not store credit, not "contact support."
What's next#
The agent can write your content and stand up a site, but it can't yet touch the shape of one — navigation, layout, which pages live where. That's next: giving your agent the same control over structure that it already has over content. Alongside that, we're building the piece that makes "docs that stay current" actually true instead of aspirational — telling your agent which pages a given code change made stale, so it knows what to check without you having to remember.
