Until this week, your connected agent (Claude Code, Cursor, anything that speaks MCP) could write and edit pages, but it couldn't touch anything about how your site is put together. Moving a page in the sidebar, switching the whole site's layout, posting a changelog entry — all dashboard-only. That's the gap this week closes.

What you can do today#
Your agent can rearrange your sidebar. A new get_site tool hands your agent the whole page tree — names, slugs, order — and move_page lets it reposition any page directly. Say "move the authentication page above the quickstart" instead of dragging it yourself.
Your agent can switch your site's shape. set_layout flips a site between a docs layout (sidebar + article) and a help-center layout (a search-first home page with article cards, no sidebar). Pages aren't touched either way — it's one call instead of a settings trip, and the reply says how to switch back.
Your agent can post to your changelog. add_changelog_entry lets your agent write a release note directly. If your key can publish, it goes live; otherwise it saves as a draft for you to approve — same rule as every other agent write. The changelog itself isn't new (it's the page above, now running real entries), but writing to it from the terminal is.
Both move_page and set_layout apply immediately rather than waiting for your approval — they change structure, not page content, so there's nothing to review the way a content edit is. Every call still tells your agent exactly what changed and how to undo it.
Also this week#
A page written by an agent used to show its title twice on the live site — once from the page header, once from a leading # Title line the agent (reasonably) included in the body. That's fixed: a repeated title heading is now stripped when the page renders, and agents are told not to add one going forward. The sidebar's accent color also now runs all the way to the left edge of the panel instead of stopping short.
What's next#
Next up is giving your agent control over how a site looks, not just its structure or content — theme, fonts, and branding, exposed the same way the page tree is today. After that: a resource listing which MDX components actually render on your site, so an agent writing a page knows what's available instead of guessing.
